Whilst I can no longer offer appointments at Fitzgraham Academy of Dance, I am still happy to offer treatments in my clinic for students. I am conveniently located a 5 minute walk away from the studio and have availability throughout the week. There is a 10% discount off treatments for any competition students. Please get in touch if you'd like to discuss suitability of treatments for your son/daughter.

Benefits of Massage for Dancers:

  • Massage aids and speeds up the body’s natural recovery process

  • Massage helps prevent injury

  • Massage enhances performance by releasing muscular tension

  • Massage aids the healing process with minor soft tissue injuries

Dance is a physically demanding activity that can put extra strains on a growing body. Sarah has extensive experience working with and treating both dancers & gymnasts. Correct technique is paramount but sometimes a growth spurt, extra rehearsals or exam classes can take their toll due to the increased demands on the growing body. Massage & soft tissue therapy are incredibly useful tools in managing and alleviating these aches & pains. Occasionally injuries are sustained, as with any physical activity and Sarah can assess, treat & rehabilitate these using a range of treatments such as massage, ultrasound & kinesiology taping.

Here are some of the issues that treatments can help with:-

-Overloading injuries involving the soft tissues including muscles, tendons, ligaments & fascia

-Plantar fasciitis

-Patellar tendonitis/tendinopathy

-Osgood Schlatter

-Severs Disease

-Shin splints

-Growing pains

-Ligament sprains

-Muscle strains/tears

-Lower back pain
