COVID-19

A new way of working

I am so pleased to announce that from 13th July Soft Tissue Therapists are allowed to reopen. Please be assured that we are taking every precaution to ensure both your safety and the therapists safety. Risk assessments will be carried out and enhanced hygiene measures are in place which supersede government guidelines. You will notice on booking that there are now forms to fill in online. This is a requirement before every appointment. You will also notice that payment is now required at the time of booking. Please contact the clinic if you need to pay on the day and we can book your appointment for you. Appointment times will be strictly adhered to and any late shows will still incur full fees. Please get in touch if you'd like to chat about the suitability of an appointment.

Please read the following for all details to expect on arrival, during your treatment and after.

  • Please wear a face covering or face mask on arrival and before entering the clinic. If you don't have a mask, we can provide one at no extra cost to you, please dispose of it responsibly after leaving the clinic. Click here for more ideas to make your own face covering.

  • Avoid bringing lots of items with you. It might help if you arrive wearing shorts ready for your treatment. Online payment on booking negates the need for a wallet or purse. If you can't pay online, please contact us prior to your appointment as we'll need to book you in and take payment by card on the day. No cash if possible please, but if this is your preferred option, please place the cash into an envelope to reduce handling.

  • Before entering, you will be asked the Covid-19 questions again and asked to sign the declaration with an E-signature on a tablet.

  • Avoid touching any door handles or other objects/surfaces, the therapist will open and close doors for you.

  • Once in the house/clinic, you will be asked to sanitise your hands, there are clear directions of correct application next to the sanitiser.

  • Once in the treatment room, take a seat. Any belongings can be placed in the plastic box next to the chair and the lid closed.

  • Please keep your mask on whilst being treated. If you struggle when lying face down, you may remove your mask but it is preferable to keep it on at all times. You will be expected to replace the mask when moving from the face down position and then re-sanitise your hands.

  • I would ask that you avoid using the toilet, unless absolutely necessary. There will be a single use hand towel to use to dry your hands that can be placed in the bin next to the sink afterwards. Please pay attention to correct hand washing and for a minimum of 30 seconds.

  • If the appointment is for a minor under 16 years old, a chaperone over 18 years will need to be present. The chaperone will also need to wear a face covering/mask whilst in the clinic. The only exception for a mask/face covering is for very young children.

  • All appointment times will be strictly adhered to. This allows a thorough clean in between appointments and an air change with increased ventilation. It also allows time for airborne droplets to settle. If you are late for your appointment, you will still incur the full cost and can only be treated in your allocated appointment slot.

  • *IMPORTANT* Please check the link to identify if treatment is suitable for you at this time. If you are high risk (clinically extremely vulnerable), you must have consent from your GP for treatment. Without this, treatment cannot go ahead. If you are classed as moderate risk (clinically vulnerable) but are healthy, treatment may go ahead without GP consent, please be aware that being pregnant and over 70 years old sits in the moderate risk category.

  • If you or another member of your household develop any of the following symptoms prior to your appointment, please contact your GP. I will offer a full refund in these circumstances and offer another appointment after the isolation period or after a negative test result for COVID-19. High temperature, new continuous cough, loss or change to your sense of smell or taste. More information can be found here   https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/

  • A big thankyou for your co-operation. With these measures we can all stay safe and decrease the chances of contracting COVID-19.
