COVID-19 Protocols

Please read the following for all details to expect on arrival, during your treatment and after.

  • Please wear a face covering or face mask on arrival and before entering the clinic. If you don't have a mask, we can provide one at no extra cost to you, please dispose of it responsibly after leaving the clinic. If you are exempt from wearing a face covering for any reason, you are not obliged to disclose your reason for exemption and we will endeavour to make reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act 2010. However, we reserve the right to offer an alternative video appointment. Sarah works from home and has to consider her family in the risk assessment. Every effort will be made by potentially asking you to arrive at another time, and a shorter treatment time if appropriate.

  • Avoid bringing lots of items with you. It might help if you arrive wearing shorts ready for your treatment. Online payment on booking negates the need for a wallet or purse. If you can't pay online, please contact us prior to your appointment as we'll need to book you in and take payment by card on the day. No cash if possible please, but if this is your preferred option, please place the cash into an envelope to reduce handling.

  • Before entering, you will be asked the Covid-19 screening questions again and asked to verbally confirm there have been no changes to your health. This will be noted on your treatment notes.

  • Please avoid touching any door handles or other objects/surfaces, the therapist will open and close doors for you.

  • Once in the house/clinic, you will be asked to sanitise your hands, there are clear directions of correct application next to the sanitiser.

  • Once in the treatment room, please take a seat. Any belongings can be placed in the plastic box next to the chair.

  • Please keep your mask on whilst being treated. If you struggle when lying face down, you may remove your mask but it is preferable to keep it on at all times. You will be expected to replace the mask when moving from the face down position and then re-sanitise your hands.

  • I would ask that you avoid using the toilet, unless absolutely necessary. There will be a single use hand towel to use to dry your hands that can be placed in the bin next to the sink afterwards. Please pay attention to correct hand washing and for a minimum of 30 seconds. I will of course allow use of the toilet in urgent circumstances.

  • If the appointment is for a minor under 16 years old, a chaperone over 18 years will need to be present. The chaperone will also need to wear a face covering/mask whilst in the clinic. The only exception for a mask/face covering is for very young children.

  • All appointment times will be strictly adhered to. This allows a thorough clean in between appointments and an air change with increased ventilation. It also allows time for airborne droplets to settle. If you are late for your appointment, you will still incur the full cost and can only be treated in your allocated appointment slot.

  • *IMPORTANT* If you are in the High Risk (clinically extremely vulnerable) Group, you may be seen but higher levels of PPE will be worn to include a disposable apron and gloves in addition to a type IIR face mask and face visor. You may be asked to arrive as the first appointment of the day and might be offered a shorter treatment time to reduce contact time.

  • If you have had your COVID vaccination, please wait at least 48 hours before having a treatment or until you feel well again.

  • If you or another member of your household develop any of the following symptoms prior to your appointment, please contact your GP. We will offer a full refund in these circumstances and offer another appointment after the isolation period, a negative PCR test result for COVID-19 or when you feel well again. The most common symptoms are a high temperature, new continuous cough, loss or change to your sense of smell or taste. More information can be found here   https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/

  • A big thankyou for your co-operation. With these measures we can all stay safe and decrease the chances of contracting COVID-19.

  • What am I doing for you?

  • Twice weekly lateral flow tests

  • 15 minute gaps between all appointments for ventilation and cleaning

  • Wearing all required PPE

  • Enhanced cleaning protocols and risk assessment

  • Adhering to all government and ISRM protocols
